Primus
Tom Zebrowski

Great show, wild stage
  • Primus was logical warmup for this show
  • My name was mud by the end of that show
  • Les Claypool was cranking the base right through you
  • Stopped at Saratoga Diner after show.

Jennifer Gaffey before she became Mrs. Link

Joan Osborne was most impressive
her most popular song is not even among her best work
Love the Black Crowes but they kind of mailed it in at this show
maybe I was too eager to hear songs they didn't play

  • and the venue burns down

  • For everybody that did not attend Woodstock '99 (and perhaps some who did)
    • this festival will be remembered for the minor rioting, looting and vandalism that occurred after the music stopped
    • Maybe they shouldn't have handed out candles as Chilli Peppers closed the show (certainly a combustable situation).

  • This was a great event until the one percent fucked it up
  • I can understand frustration by people who felt gouged by vending costs and camping conditions weren't ideal.
  • There were many people already sunburned after the first day and it was sunny and hot all weekend.
  • But the rioters really screwed us out of any chance for a subsequent Woodstock scale show in upstate NY
  • Anybody got the balls to sponsor Woodstock 2019 ?
Jeff Gaffey, Chuck Halpin, Ray

Highlights

  • Topless women
  • Three of the best female singers
    • Alanis Morrisette
    • Jewel
    • Sheryl Crow
  • All of the bands brought their A Game
    • I started to list them but I ended up just repeating the performer list
  • Bands I expected to be good (.i.e I was already fan of their musc)
    • Live, Bush, Offspring, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band,
    • Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • Bands that I didn't really know beyond their one song which got played on radio.
  • These bands impressed/entertained me. I felt their energy. I understand their popularity
  • DMX, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Kid Rock, Creed
  • Looking back there were many acts on the other stage I would have liked to have seen.
  • Same regret for Woodstock '94 but these megashows/festivals often present such dilemas
  • Too bad they don't tape the performances and provide stream access to ticket holders
